Downtown Denver, Colorado (Intersections of Broadway, Park Avenue and Lawrence Street)
City and County of Denver, Department of Parks and Recreation
Contract project managed the design and construction of the $500k project to renovate Triangle Park in Downtown Denver. This prominent downtown space is challenged by its proximity to homeless service providers and saw frequent drug-related activity. Project management services included oversight of design and construction, as well as facilitation of numerous stakeholders and groups through public meetings and communications to convert the park into an urban garden. The space was successfully transformed into the Eddie Maestas Community Garden, which opened in October 2014, and is now run in partnership with Denver Urban Gardens and involves participation by a variety of homeless outreach organizations and neighborhood groups.
